Lucy Reveco

As owner & Director of L.A. Dance Academy since July of 2003, Lucy Reveco brings a wealth of experience not only in the performing area but as well as Choreographing, teaching and coaching students for over 30 years. Lucy has trained in  various dance styles including ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Cheerleading and Latin. She holds a Bachelor degree in Physical Education from the University of Manitoba, and is also a member of the International Dance Council (CID) and Dance Manitoba, along with various dance studio owner/director business organizations both nationally & internationally.

 

She started her very own dance program/business back in 1989 at the West Kildonan Community Centre. She then expanded and carried over her dance program at the Wellness Institute at Seven Oaks general hospital. This later led to finally opening up her own dance studio in the heart of the North Kildonan community as what is known today as L.A. Dance Academy which was established in 2003.
Lucy has extensive dance experience in performing at a professional level with the Winnipeg Thunder High-Performance dance team and also with the Winnipeg Blue Bomber Cheerleaders where she later became the head Choreographer and Coach for eight more years. She has assisted and choreographed with many CFL Grey Cup half time shows across Canada including Shania Twain. She also took the former Blue Brigade and transformed the team from a pom-pom sweater squad to one of the best dance and most respected dance performance teams in the C.F.L. from 1996-2003.

 

Now celebrating over 16 years of L.A. Dance Academy, Lucy has also taken her performance dance teams to a number of dance competitions and performances across Canada & the USA to showcase their talent at the New York Broadway Pulse dance conventions from San Francisco to Orlando. Her powerful and competitive dance teams have achieved great success not only in Winnipeg but also representing Manitoba at the Dance World Cup in both Mont Tremblant & Whistler.  Besides competing, her commitment to charitable community events in the city of Winnipeg has also been showcased at the Children’s Wish Foundation Celebrity Gala’s, Children’s Museum “Way off Broadway” and the annual Children’s Hospital “Teddy Bear Picnic”.
Lucy’s love and passion for dance and children have led her to be a mentor to all her staff and students, who have won countless dance competition and awards not only in Winnipeg but also on the National scale. She has built a solid reputation among parents and students with her acclaimed dance program for over 30 years.  Now one of the Top dance studios in the city of Winnipeg, Lucy has received a nomination for “Top Dance Studio” in Winnipeg. Her focus is to continually provide her students, with the best and top dance educators and programs so that they can continue to have the best dance experience and to learn from the very best!
